About Gregory Burkey

Gregory Burkey started his own firm in 1995 and has been designing homes large and small on the east coast ever since.  Gregory, a protégé of both the legendary decorator Stuart Greet and the highly acclaimed designer Samuel Botero, has refined his vision of the art and science of design while working in homes from highly designed Manhattan condominiums to eclectic country homes.

Gregory philosophy is to form a collaboration between his clients, the best artisanal craftsmen and himself to create a home that is beautiful while functioning to enhance their lifestyle.   Whether it is a complete overhaul or simply a matter of reutilizing what a client already owns, Gregory’s genius lies in his gift of proper placement to maximize a rooms’ beauty, comfort and function.

After earning his Interior Design Degree in Seattle, Gregory began his career in Manhattan.  It was there that he quickly learned and developed his own style.  Proper space planning, using cabinetry and case goods combined with beautiful color and fine art, antique or ethnic accents are just a few devices that he employs.

“Sometimes a room only needs a quick makeover, refining what a client already owns,” says Gregory Burkey, “the trick is knowing what to use and why.”  Gregory Burkey insists that not all design is as intensive as a complete overhaul.  “Each project is just as important as the next.  I’d like to see everyone enjoy their personal spaces to their maximum ability.  Interior design is for everyone.”
